dont know if anyone has heard it, but Annie Lennox does the most sublime version of Neil Young's "Dont Let It Bring you Down." found it a while back - and it is jawdropping - cant even describe it!!! listened to it several times in a row tonight - hope a couple of you have heard it - Lennox just rules on that tune - will almost make you cry.

Speaking of covers that are jaw dropping, Jeffrey Gaines on his studio cd "Always Be" covers Roberta Flack's "1st Time I Ever Saw Your Face." For years I always thought that song can not be covered... the original is that good. But when Jeffrey sings it with his pipes...wow!

Check out "House Of The Rising Sun" by Rob Lamothe.

Yes it's the same Rob Lamothe..the cover tune was on a solo cd "Gravity". Also done live by his band "The Riverdogs". Go to his website and as it opens listen to his new cd. Plus search in the music section and get some mp3's http://www.roblamothe.com/".

Rob writes the greatest lyrics.

Oh man. If you think that is great you should check out that whole album of covers that she does. Her soulful almost gospellike version of The Clash song "Train in Vain" is incredible.
